Gilly instantly engages with each child and parent she meets with her warmth, extensive knowledge, fun and easy-going personality.

From the age of 7, Gilly knew she wanted to work with children, and she went on to fulfil her dream.

She has over 30 years’ extensive experience working with children in the UK and abroad.

Since qualifying as an NNEB childcare practitioner in 1988, Gilly has worked with diverse groups of children with a variety of complex and additional needs.

In 2010 she set up a Nanny company offering last minute and ad hoc nannying and “Nanny to the Rescue” was born. Whilst nannying she encountered families who were struggling with different child development-related issues, and started to offer Parenting Consultation Support with tailor-made packages.

These issues include: challenging behaviour, faddy eaters, bedtime battles, potty/toilet training, sleep issues and many more. The list is endless.

One such family required help with potty training and Gilly decided to write a children’s book,  “Polly Poo Goes Home” – www.pollypoogoeshome.co.uk – to  help prevent children from developing any fears associated with no 2s. She created the characters as well as a theme tune for children to sing-along to. This book also comes with a free laminated reward chart.

Gilly helps many children who have unfortunately already developed a fear, and have begun to withhold no 2s, to overcome their fear through play therapy.

Gilly brings the characters from her book with her, as well as incorporating arts and crafts into her play sessions, whilst she takes your child with her on Polly Poo’s journey home. “Polly Poo Goes Home” has already sold over 1,000 copies worldwide.
